3rd grade students and staff had fun and enjoyed their time outside during the Day of Awesome last week! Students raced through inflatable obstacle courses, competed in a game of wipe out, showed off their axe throwing skills and won some awesome prizes while shooting some hoops. We loved seeing all the excitement and would say another year with Day of Awesome was a huge success!

It's been a busy couple weeks in Kindergarten #atthepark. We had the Brady Station Fire Department join us to cap our studies of Fire Safety. We also visited Graves Mountain for our Fall Field Trip where we learned about the parts of apples and pumpkins and their life cycles. We love Kindergarten in Fall!

" Lots of fun things have been happening in the Art Room! Kindergarten and 1st graders have worked on their cutting, gluing, and drawing skills with their pencil projects, 2nd graders have been painting paper for a weaving project, 3rd graders worked on marker prints inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama, 4th graders created low level relief sculptures and reviewed warm and cool colors, and 5th graders added patterns to an abstract watercolor piece made by blowing liquid watercolor paint with straws. #art #artatthepark

In Miss Nellis’ 1st grade class, the students are learning about maps. This includes recognizing basic map symbols, using cardinal directions to read a map, and constructing simple maps, including a title, map legend, and compass rose. We used our skills to create a map of the SPES playground and they helped us find buried treasure!
