Ms. Sain's class had a surprise guest during their Quarter 1 Math Review Day. Officer A. Sain (Ms. Sain's sister) of the Culpeper Police Department stopped by for a visit and to brush up on her third grade math skills. The students had fun teaching Officer Sain how to add/subtract with regrouping, compare & order numbers, and they even taught her how to solve some multi-step word problems!

From crafting unique characters to exploring thrilling tales, this month promises to be full of imagination and fun in the library! After diving into Quit Calling Me a Monster (4th and 5th graders) and I Want to Be in a Scary Story (2nd and 3rd graders), our students have truly embraced their creativity! They've been busy reading spooky stories and crafting their own imaginative monsters. It’s been incredible to see the unique personalities emerge in their creations—each one more original than the last! The energy and creativity have been infectious, and it’s wonderful to see everyone so engaged! #atthePark

The kindergarten classes went on their first field trip a couple weeks ago. They traveled to Graves Mountain Farm to learn about the lifecycle of apples and pumpkins. Each child picked a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and chose apples from the packing shed. They also saw many animals like pigs, goats, sheep, and cows. It was a beautiful fall day for a field trip. 🍂 🍎

Mrs. Arend’s 2nd grade family is off to a great start! We have walked in the steps of dinosaurs on a field trip to Luck Stone Quarry, made fossilized impressions of shells, became paleontologists by using tools (toothpicks and paint brushes) to extract chocolate chip “fossils” out of cookies and sprinkled kindness to our custodian and to the residents at The Culpeper Assisted Living Center. We can’t wait to see what else this year will bring!
